I’m sure that everyone who reads this blog knows how relatively safe BJJ is, but accidents are a possibility. Please take a few moments to read John Will’s blog post and consider donating a few bucks to help one of our own out in a time of real need. We are all careful. We all take necessary precautions, but the truth is, it could have been any one of us. I’d like to think that you guys would help me out if I needed it, as I would help you.
My heart goes out to Haydn Clasby and his family.

Just reading an update from his facebook page, looks like hes going to go out shopping on monday.
I hope he stays on his steady track to full recovery
Very good news. Thanks for the update!
Wow, a very touching story. Thanks for bringing it to our attention.
Steve, if it is ok with you I would like to copy this blog post and add it to my blog straight away. I shall do it now, but if you would like me to remove it at anytime, please drop me an email.
No problem, Mark.
[...] get to do any BJJ it seems like. To top it all off I read on SteveBjj.com about Haydn Clasby. Can you have a worse holiday? I donated what I could to help because I can’t [...]
Thanks Steve for bring this to my attention. I’ve sent my support and will include him in my prayers.
Jason, it truly is the least I could do. Beyond the immediate concerns for his health, Haydn and his family will need a lot of support to get him through the long term effects of this accident.
I don’t know Haydn personally, and don’t need to. As I said before, this was an accident. Many of us compete and this could be any one of us.
As an aside, the paypal link makes the conversion to New Zealand currency from wherever you are in the world. Very easy and you don’t need a Paypal account to donate.
