I did the purple gi this weekend and it turned out great. I have a few pics of it, but am hoping to get some better quality ones of the gi owner wearing it.

As for tie-dye, beleive it or not, there's a company called HappyKimonos who offers this service. It's spendy, though... about $85 per gi.

You're going to be a dyeing pro soon. If I see a bunch of bjj guys running around with tie-dye i'll know where it all got started.

Hi Georgette. Glad to hear about the chocolate gi. I bought the Dharma Dye Fixative. I haven't used it before, but it's supposed to lock in any rogue color.

I picked up imperial purple for Jaime's gi, and also some charcoal grey and some pewter for myself. I'll post pictures once it's done... probably this weekend.

Very cool-- can't wait to hear how it comes out. What dye fixative did you buy, and which dye color? (I assume one of Dharma's procionMX dyes?) Also fyi after a second wash, haven't had any problems with the brown gi.. and my training partner's white gi came out sparkling clean after a wash too. PHEW!

Keep me posted!!! :)

I agree with what Scott told you, you can even reach with the outside hand and hook the ankle and trap their foot there to start to work a couple other sweeps as well. :)
