Quick Post

Believe it or not, I have been training, but have been plagued with one thing after another. I went to class on Friday and felt okay, but Saturday morning I woke up and my back was very stiff and sore. I’m not sure what I did, but I know that going down to Home Depot to pick up 15 cases of ceramic tile didn’t help.

So, then I went to class and worked technique on Sunday. I didn’t spar, but after class, I felt okay. My back was nice and warm and I thought I’d do some light rolling, working on some technique. So I worked with James, a 4 stripe white belt, on some sweeps I picked up on over at Factory BJJ. I need to work on them some more, and maybe talk to Coach about what I’m missing, but they seem simple and effective and play well into my game.

Then I worked with a very new white belt on some fundamentals.

Of course, Monday, my back was killing me. I think that it was more to do with the tile than the BJJ… that’s my story and I’m sticking to it. I’m feeling a lot better now and think I’ll try class on Sunday after having rested it all week. While still a little stiff, I’m moving without pain now and feeling pretty good. I’ll work technique and roll light.

I’m sorry to hear about your back problems… but if I remember correctly that has been plaguing you ( off and on) since you started training. I bet you that it was the 15 cases of ceramic tile that tweaked a weak spot somewhere. Take good care of yourself, and heal quickly.
